Security Forces Uncover Maoist Hideout in Nuapada District
ODISHA, Bhubaneswar:NOVEMBER 2, 2024 – In a major breakthrough, security forces have discovered a temporary hideout of CPI (Maoist) cadres in the dense forests of Nuapada district. The Search and Destroy Operation (SADO), launched by the Superintendent of Police, Nuapada, on October 30, 2024, led to the recovery of a significant cache of explosives, ammunition, and Naxalite literature.
DETAILS OF RECOVERY
The security personnel recovered approximately 500 electric detonators, five reels of safety fuse, five improvised IED switches, two SBGL rounds (decomposed), and one gelatin stick (decomposed). Various Naxalite literatures were also seized from the site, indicating the hideout’s connection to the DGN Divisional Committee of the CPI (Maoist).
OPERATION DETAILS
The SADO operation involved two Special Operations Group (SOG) assault teams, which conducted an extensive search of the Patdhara and Sunabeda Reserve Forests. The teams identified the suspected Maoist camp near Bhainsamundi (Bahadurpani) village on November 1, 2024, at approximately 6:45 a.m.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE OPERATION
